How to Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

1. Make sure that you have believed on Jesus and turned from any known sin (Acts 5:32).

2. You may want to acquaint yourself with the Scriptures that teach the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Mark 16:17; John 14:17b; Acts 2:1-4; 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-6; Rom. 8:26-27). You may also want to read our two tracts on this subject (Have You Received the Holy Spirit Since You Believed? & Why Every Believer Should Speak With Tongues).

3. Ask God in Jesus' name to fill you with the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13).

4. Whether you feel anything or not, by faith begin to pray in the new language supplied by the Holy Spirit, and the assurance and manifold blessings of prayer in the Spirit will assuredly follow (Mark 11:24; John 14:14; 1 John 5:14-15).
